Abitzel (Abbi) Robinson-Hobson
Abbi is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of the Council for Economic Education. She leads finance, human resources, technology, legal, sales operations, and events as well as partners with the CEO to establish organizational strategy and priorities.
Through years of work in both the profit and not-for-profit sectors and her volunteer work, Abbi has become intimately familiar with the impact economic and financial knowledge has on students, parents, families, and communities.
Abbi leads with over 25 years of experience in strategy, financial management, and business operations within diverse sectors including sports, film, television, financial services, venture capital, start-ups, and not-for-profits. Before joining CEE, Abbi held leadership finance and operations roles at the National Basketball Association (NBA), American Express, Getting Out and Staying Out (GOSO), Rock The Bells, and early on at 40 Acres and a Mule with Filmmaker Spike Lee. Early in her career, Abbi also held accounting and auditing roles at global firms PricewaterhouseCoopers and EisnerAmper where she provided professional services for Fortune 100 companies Viacom, Inter Public Group, and General Electric. Abbi is also the founder of Everly Business Solutions Group, LLC., a consulting and advisory practice.
Abbi’s recent board work includes – Treasurer, Bridge Street Development Corporation and Economic Development Committee Co-Chair, Brooklyn’s Community Board 3.
Abbi earned a B.S. in accounting from CUNY – Brooklyn College, an MBA from Cornell University – Johnson Graduate School of Management, and a certificate from Columbia Business School – Senior Leaders Program for Nonprofit Executive Leadership.
