SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Friday, February 10, 2017

Anyone who is interested in economic and personal finance education is invited to submit a proposal to present a session at the 56th Annual Financial Literacy and Economic Education Conference.

Please read the Proposal Guidelines and then complete all of the sections below. Individuals can submit no more than two proposals for presentation. Proposals that are not fully completed or do not meet the guidelines will not be accepted for consideration.

PROPOSAL GUIDELINES:

Presentation Formats
You may propose a presentation in any of the following formats:

  • Concurrent Session - these sessions are 50 minute informal presentations that include opportunities for presenter-audience interaction.
  • Research Session – these sessions are90 minutes.Research papers will be assigned in a session and will be matched up by theme or topic.
  • Poster Session – these sessions are 50 minute, visual poster presentations that provide an opportunity to have an informal discussion between presenters and participants.

Audience 
Please specify whether this session is intended for CEE Affiliates or K-12 Educators. Sessions intended for Affiliates will be scheduled for Thursday, October 5 and Friday, October 6. Sessions intended for K-12 Educators will be scheduled for Friday, October 6 and Saturday, October 7.

Proposal Review Process/Session Selection Criteria
Because of the number of high-quality submissions received and the limited number of available sessions, it is very competitive for a submission to be accepted. Approximately eight breakout sessions will be held in each concurrent session.

The Conference Committee will carefully review, evaluate and rank each proposal. Incomplete proposals will not be considered in the evaluation process.

The following criteria will be used when reviewing proposals:

  1. Title and abstract must be clear, concise and match the program description
  2. Objectives are clearly stated and specific
  3. Includes a description of specific presentation techniques, instructional strategies and content
  4. Opportunities for engaging the audience
  5. Content and/or skills discussed are relevant to the intended audience
  6. Proposal content is of current interest and/or a hot topic in economic and personal finance education

Presenter Notification
Acceptance/non-acceptance notification will be sent via email by April 5 to the session Chair. The session Chair will be responsible for notifying all presenters regarding the status of the proposal.

The Council for Economic Education reserves the right to make final decisions on acceptance of all proposals.

Audiovisual Requirements
CEE will provide a digital projector and screen in each meeting room. All meeting rooms will have internet access. You are responsible for bringing your own laptop computer. Other audiovisual equipment (e.g. VCR, DVD, Speakers, etc.) can be ordered from the Marriott Hotel at your expense.
