K-12 Teacher Professional Development – Continuing Education Credits

  • Twelve 2-hour intensive workshops for elementary, middle and high school teachers using the newest teaching resources and programs from the Council for Economic Education. The Council will provide attendees with certificates of completion for their participation in the conference and attendance at workshops.

Capitol Hill Visits – Wednesday, October 7

  • Take advantage of this special opportunity to visit your Senators and Congressional Representatives to share your success stories in support of economic and financial education. Be sure to check back for more information and how to schedule appointments.

Conference Logistics

Facilities
All conference sessions and exhibits will be held at the Hyatt Regency Washington Capitol Hill, 400 New Jersey Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20001; (202) 737-1234; http://www.hyattregencywashington.com.

Registration Information
You may register online (preferred), by mail or by fax. Your registration fee entitles you to attend any of the plenary or concurrent sessions. It also includes the Thursday night reception and awards dinner. Teacher workshops are at an additional cost of $10/per workshop.

Hotel Reservations
Special conference hotel rates have been arranged at the Hyatt Regency Washington Capitol Hill. The conference rate is $219/night (single or double occupancy). You may reserve your hotel room by calling 202-737-1234 or online. Room reservations must be received by Friday, September 18, 2009 to qualify for the conference rate. A three day post and pre conference rate is available based on availability.

The Hyatt Hotel check-in time is 3:00 pm with check-out time at noon. The Hotel requires a first-night's room and tax deposit on a major credit card to guarantee guest rooms. The deposit is non-refundable if cancellation occurs within 72 hours or arrival.

Ground Transportation

Taxi

A cab ride from Reagan National Airport to the Hyatt Regency Hotel is approximately 12 minutes. The cost is approximately $15. Taxis are available 24 hours a day at taxi stands in front of the terminals.

Payment
Payment for the full amount must be received before the start of the conference or accompany your registration form. An email confirmation will be sent to participants.

Cancellations
Cancellations of registration received by Wednesday, September 18 qualify for a full refund minus a $25.00 processing fee. No refunds will be made after that date.

Conditions
Preregistration deadline for the conference is Wednesday, September 18. A late registration fee of $25.00 will be charged for registrations postmarked after September 18.
